Thank you for visiting digital e.motions! Alec, Lewis and I are the first three members of the International Belles Lettres Federation (IBLF), which is the second simulated literary movement by August Highland. Our work takes its direction from the work of Alexi Waterhouse, the solo contributor to COW gallery. Alexi is a member of the Worldwide Literarti Mobilization Network (WLMN), the first simulated literary movement founded by August Highland. Alexi originated a new genre that is distinct from the work by the other members of the WLMN. He has named his genre "Next-Gen Nanopoetics". We at digital e.motions are interested in extending next-gen into new forms and applications. We have followed Alexi's new literary concept but have fashioned it into a prose style which we call "Microlinear Storytelling". Our approach to our collaboration on this project was to produce work that conformed to one structure or form. The work I produce in my five series is structured on the same style as that of my collaborators, Alex and Lewis. We wanted to do something new by creating work that was like each others. I could have based my series on a different structure than the work of Alex and Lewis and vice versa. But we wanted to act as a collective so that a reader reading my work wouldn't be able to distinguish it from the work of the other two digital e.motions members. The structure and pattern of our work is very straightforward and is guided by our interest in looping and ambient literary form. Looping means that a phrase is repeated in a sequence of other phrases. Ambient means that the literary material creates an environmentally or spatially or emotionally neutral atmosphere. We are interested in excising drama from our work because we feel that drama or emotional affect is a temporary state of the mind, in contrast to ambience or neutrality which is free of drama and elicits a timeless state of mind. Our work also has an incantatory quality. There is an equaniminous quality about our work, or homeostatic quality, like the organic beating of the heart or the in-and-out breathing of our respiratory system. This is what our work emulates. The pulse of organic life. We hope you enjoy the excerpts that you read here. I have five series with 600 volumes in each series and Alexi and Lewis have four series each with 600 volumes in each of their series. Each volume that we have produced has cover artwork below the excerpt and below the cover artwork are links to the other volumes in the same series. You can always return to one of our main pages by clicking on our picture. To return to this page you can click on the animated and pulsing "X" symbol.
